Since 2007, ShimanePrefecture has been working on breeding red, high sugar content, fragrant, and large grapes that can be eaten with the skin. A rare variety cultivated only in Shimane Prefecture, (Shinku), translated as Red God, is a combination of Shine Muscat and Red Ballad grapes, is developed after 10 years of research.
Boasting a suprising sweetness with a sugar content of over 20 degrees and aroma which surpasses that of Delaware and Shine Muscat, these seedless grapes are characterized by a crisp, popping texture that can be eaten with the skin.
